“ This was a great experience. The lobster roll, oyster rockefeller, and Taiwanese pork tacos were superb. The pear prosecco is a must. I had the privilege of being served by the infamous Jerome. He is the embodiment of perfection in a waiter. He is courteous, knowledgeable, pleasant, and helpful...and not in a fake waiter type of way. He made a sauce that was the Piece de resistance to my pork tacos. The wine and drink menu is great. The food is so flavorful and has a great taste. The flavors are savory and everything you have always wanted to taste. Not only is this a place you will return without hesitation, but it is a place where you will want to bring others to experience the flavors and atmosphere also. 5 out of 5. Spacious, clean bathrooms. Wheelchair accessible. The manager will greet your table, and that is always a plus with me. Is it possible to get served oysters so far from the ocean with a freshness and wonderful taste? Yes! It is here. ”
“ We love it here! We have already visited 3 times in the last 2 months. We enjoy the sauvignon blanc and Lake Murray cocktail. We like to start with their happy hour oysters, which come with a few sauces to try. We have tried the clams, tacos, and roasted chicken, which have all been awesome! Our fave side is the Brussels sprouts. They are so good! The atmosphere is laid back but still great for a cozy date night, and the servers and bartenders have all been friendly. ”
“ Our first time at George Roberts. We will definitely be back! Everything was delicious! ”
“ My husband and I have been wanting to check out this much talked about new spot. We went for our date night and it did not disappoint. The selection of wines were limited but excellent, I had a NZ Savignon Blanc and my husband a Pinto Noir. We had 1/2 dz raw oysters and the oysters Rockefeller as an appetizer and they were mouth watering good. Lots of other customers had the house oysters steamed instead of raw and they looked gorgeous too. We shared the special, seared scallops on a mushroom risotto, and oh my it was decadent. This is a wonderful place for excellent food, comfortable cozy upscale vibes, and a tentative staff and chefs that pay attention to the details. A bit pricey, but well worth it. Shout out to David our server, he made the experience top notch! Update: went back for a special dinner with my husband and Angie was amazing! She made sure our night was fantastic, David was our server and again he was fantastic! The manager also came around and was very personable and kind. Almost a year they have been open and the place is always packed. Sitting out at the fire pit makes for a relaxing wait and a beautiful spot to take in the evening. ”
“ I'm a HUGE foodie. I am also not easily impressed. Lol However, I had the pleasure of having my 1st visit to a new Wine/Oyster Bar establishment that is no where from my house. It has been open 8 months & I was very pleased with everything. From the friendliness meeting the host at the door when I joked & said I didn't realize this was the old library I use to bring all of my children to when they were small. I was chatting it up with a gentleman who was sitting next to me & asked me how was I enjoying my meal. After a few minutes of speaking I found out he was the owner of the establishment & he takes pride in his created dishes. My waitress Lizzi Belle was nothing short of amazing & very personable. While Austin was hard at work shucking my 24 oysters lol we had a nice talk. I enjoyed speaking with Julia the head chef as well & Anderson the manager was constantly moving around & attentive even as I walked out the door to leave. So many great people work at this establishment. The nice ambience, low key vibe & coziness was something that the Irmo/Columbia area needed. The menu is also nothing short of amazing with some of my favs! I didnt get to try them all but some food favs on the menu was charred encrusted brussel sprouts, asparagus, She Crab soup, Oysters (duh), Blackened Salmon, Signature drinks (Plum Crazy Margarita oh my), Oyster Shots infused with bacon. Everything is super fresh & the presentation the food comes out with is perfect. I have a new spot! ”
“ Always a great experience at George Roberts restaurant. Have been here several times now. They have a great wine and cocktail selection, and food that is well prepared and reasonably priced. The service is always attentive and considerate. Top notch all the way around, I highly recommend George Roberts! ”
“ We have heard people talk about this restaurant for some time, but we were unable to go there for one reason or another. So, my husband and I decided to go on a whim on a Friday night. We were glad we did. The staff was excellent! We sat outside and waited for our table to be ready. It was a lovely atmosphere. We ordered food to share. We had scallops with risotto, beef tacos, and brisket tacos. All Three were absolutely delicious. It was a wonderful experience. We will definitely go back. We are so glad to have an upscale foodie restaurant in Irmo. ”
“ Got there at 4:30 but it filled up by 5. Bar was full. Absolutely great fresh food. 2 specials ordered - crab nachos & tilefish crude. Fresh and flavorful but light. Ordered the prosciutto pizza as entree..delicious with a sweet base, arugula and balsamic drizzle. Prices very reasonable based on living in Charleston recently. The hot peachy margarita was spicy& different. Fresh juices. Great service by Taylor. Very attentive. Highly recommend. ”
